The European Panel of Local Officials (EPLO) is an annual survey of local representatives. Our goal with this panel is to learn about local officials’ backgrounds, career paths, policy priorities and job experiences.

The first wave of EPLO includes seven countries: Denmark, France, Italy, Israel, Germany, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.

If you received an invitation to participate, you can access the survey here:

If you have trouble accessing the survey, please contact us at localgovernancelab@gmail.com.

EPLO is a private and strictly confidential academic survey. We hope the results of this effort will shed light on the important work done by local governments and their representatives.

The study findings will allow policymakers to learn about the experience of their peers and how they solve similar challenges in their municipalities. EPLO can also be useful to nonprofit organizations and academics interested in learning about local politics.
